A while ago, Jaime Carroll did confirm that in one of his online video diaries that he would release a press announcement regarding series two. After a lot of chopping and changing, here it is! (Note: There will be a video posted on Jaime Carroll's Youtube page displaying what will be said here)
What's happening?
Series Two will be longer than the first! Because there has been a lot of behind-the-scenes changing, this is the CONFIRMED schedule for the series:
In September 2008, a SPECIAL one-off episode will be released. This episode, titled 'Attack of the Zearok' will roughly be 25 to 30 minutes long. Clips of this episode have been seen in the 'series two next time trailer' and below are some exclusive pictures from the special episode:
(Right) The Doctor and Ariel outside the TARDIS and (Left) the Doctor with Strider and Lance Hayden.
The 'Attack of the Zearok' special will see Jaime Carroll return as the 11th Doctor, now sporting a brown shirt instead of his original grey one. Strider (Dale Farrow) and Lance Hayden (Paul Kay) return as part of the TARDIS Crew. New to the special will be Ariel (Tanya Wright) who joins the Doctor after Hayden and Strider get kidnapped by the Zearok!
After this special airs in September 2008, then Series Two will begin! However, Series Two won't officially start until MARCH 2009. Unfortunately, not many of the episode titles can be released until AFTER 'Attack of the Zearok' is shown due to SPOILERS. However, there will be a next time trailer at the end of the special and Series Two will also have NINE episodes, instead of eight as in series one.
The Cast
As mentioned above, Jaime Carroll returns as the Doctor, with Dale Farrow as Strider and Paul Kay as Lance Hayden. Tanya Wright plays Ariel in the special but there will be no Leo (Arron Carroll) until Series Two.
Rumours that Nip returns are false, as is Leo being the Master. No further comment will be made whether Jaime Carroll, Dale Farrow, Paul Kay or Tanya Wright will be in Series Two - this is just to confirm that they will be in the "Attack of the Zearok" special and any other news is pure speculation.
Andrew Mansell, who played one of the guards in 'Army of the Ancient Ghosts' in series one, guest stars as the Zearok and Paul Kay also voices the alien. Further cast names regarding Series Two will be announced AFTER 'Attack of the Zearok.'
